The site contains a database of annotated links to agricultural, environmental, and food-related resources; a calendar of events; related scientific news; and discussion groups. AgNIC is supported, in part, by the USDA’s National Agricultural Library (NAL).

In addition to the National Agricultural Library (NAL) catalog, this site contains AGRICOLA, a database of citations from "journal articles, book chapters, short reports, and reprints." Covers "all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines, including animal and veterinary sciences, entomology, plant sciences, forestry, aquaculture and fisheries, farming and farming systems, [and] agricultural economics." Searchable by keyword, and browsable by title, author, and subject. Includes browsable list of indexed journals.

NewCROP: The New Crop Resource Online Program view detail comment email this

"The Web site of the Center for New Crops & Plant Products, at Purdue University. NewCROP provides windows to new and specialty crop profiles." The heart of this site is CropMAP, the searchable and browsable New Crop Resource Online Program, which has highly detailed crop information for the United States. NewCROP also provides information about alternative crops, unusual foods consumed during famines, and medicinal crops.
