Molecular Expressions: Images from the Microscope
This site contains "photo galleries that explore the fascinating world of optical microscopy." There are hundreds of photomicrographs (photos taken through a microscope) alongside brief descriptions. The Microscopy Primer presents a basic introduction to the microscope. The Silicon Zoo contains images of doodles on the silicon chips in your computer. Also available are Java tutorials on microscopy, transistors, and QX3 computer virtual microscopes. Science, Optics and You , a curriculum project, covers light, color, and optics. Additionally, the Museum of Microscopy has images of historic microscopes from the 16th century to the present.
